CRITICAL TO ORDERING CORRECTLY: Deciding between the G6 Size or the G-6/63 head options:
The manufacturer of your machine has changed the design of the cutter head over the years, and depending on its age your machine will require either a G6 or a G-6/63 model head. BYRD TOOL EXPERTS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR HEADS THAT ARE ORDERED INCORRECTLY, AND REQUIRES A 25% RESTOCKING FEE TO REPLACE AN INCORRECTLY ORDERED HEAD.
We would hate for you to pay a restocking fee – here is how to correctly measure your head so you order the correct part.
Older models use a 2 5/8 cutting circle and newer models use a 63mm cutting circle (Cutting circle = diameter of cutter head including knives). To determine what cutting circle your cutter head uses, please do the following:
- STEP One: Wrap a piece of paper around the cutter head so that it is just touching the knives (keep as true a circle as possible). Put a mark where the edge of the paper wraps around and meets the body of the sheet of paper.
- STEP Two: Measure the distance between the mark and the end of your paper.
-
- If your measurement is 8″ to 8 1/4″ long then your cutting circle is 2.625″ in diameter: Order the G6 Model Head.
- If your measurement is 7 7/8″ or less, then your cutting circle is 2.480″ in diameter: Order the G-6/63 head.
